Carliss Chatman is an accomplished Associate Professor of Law at Washington and Lee University School of Law. With a JD from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in English, African-American Studies, and Women's Studies from Duke University, Professor Chatman has a vast range of experience in complex commercial litigation. She taught at Northern Illinois University and Stetson University College of Law, held leadership positions in non-profit boards, and worked as an analyst, regulatory hero, and development director. Her research interests focus on corporate governance, legal ethics, and legal personhood.
