Bert Vaux is a well-respected linguist who has had a distinguished academic career, published extensively, and contributed to the field of phonetics in numerous ways. He earned his PhD in Linguistics from Harvard University and is currently a professor of Linguistics and Data Science at the University of Cambridge. Throughout his career, Vaux has focused on the study of language variation and change, taking a particular interest in how language is used in different geographic regions, communities, and social groups. He has also conducted research on the phonetic and phonological systems of numerous languages and dialects, with a focus on English, German, and Romance languages. Vaux has published extensively on these topics, with over 60 publications to his name, including four edited volumes and a textbook on phonetics.
