William Temple is a renowned mechanical engineer and entrepreneur in the technology and energy industries. His expertise lies in the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) and edge computing technology to improve building energy efficiency and facilities management. As the CEO and Co-Founder of Ampotech, a Singapore-based company, Temple has played a vital role in the development of innovative technologies that use data analytics to optimize building operations.

He has a Master of Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University. With over ten years of international experience in energy, smart buildings, and operational technology, Temple has worked in various capacities, from R&D to operations and business development. Prior to co-founding Ampotech, he was the Research Programs Manager at the University of Illinois’ Advanced Digital Sciences Center, managing projects focused on cybersecurity and data analytics for critical infrastructure.

Temple has also worked as a consulting engineer in the building services industry, where he focused on air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems. He is a Singapore Certified Energy Manager and has co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications relating to energy systems, IoT, and cybersecurity.
