George Sepsakos
George Sepsakos is a highly experienced attorney with a strong focus on ERISA, federal tax, and securities law. He represents clients on a wide range of issues related to Title I of ERISA and advises banks, broker-dealers, recordkeepers, and other financial service providers on the structuring and marketing of retirement plan services and products. George has extensive experience defending plan trustees, fiduciaries, and service providers in investigations and enforcement proceedings brought by the Department of Labor, and he regularly counsels large employers and plan committees in developing processes and best practices regarding plan investments, plan governance matters, and compliance with DOL's final regulation defining the term "fiduciary." George is a frequent speaker and author on a range of employee benefits-related topics and he worked as an ERISA Enforcement Advisor within the Office of Enforcement of the Department of Labor Employee Benefits Security Administration before joining the Groom Law Group, Chartered. George holds a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, an LLM in Taxation and Employee Benefits Law from Georgetown University Law Center, and a BA in Economics and Criminal Justice from Michigan State University.
