Manage and promote UNICEF’s wellbeing services for staff and their families in 24 countries in West and Central Africa (WCAR) in English, French and Spanish to mitigate work-related and traumatic stress and strengthen resilience.  Developed and implemented Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy for WCAR and Covid-19 Response Plan. Technical supervisor for team of 5 staff counsellors and manage a 100-strong peer support volunteer programme across the region including training, remote technical support and supervision. Work with management to integrate Duty of Care Framework region wide. Conducted 2000+ individual counselling sessions, of which 10% were critical incidents. Carried out 40+ wellbeing missions with focus on emergency & non-family duty stations; assessed psychological work-related hazards and provided detailed reports with recommendations to management and follow-up.  Trained over 2,000 staff on topics such as psychological first aid, emergency preparedness, resilience and stress management.    Ethics Dialogue Focal Point for matters concerning Prevention of Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Harassment and Abuse of Authority in the Workplace.  Lead for Psychosocial Crisis Cell for the Senegal UN Contingency Plan during Covid-19 under the Resident Coordinator United Nations Department of Safety and Security.

Curriculum Developer and Training Specialist

Manage human rights training programmes and education services on United Nations and Regional Human Rights systems including course design, implementation, capacity building initiatives and drafting narrative reports to donors. Trained approx. 700 participants in English and French from governments, NGOs, National Human Rights Institutions, human rights defenders and young activists from across the world to access and practically implement human rights mechanisms in their work.  Designed and delivered train-the-trainer courses with internal staff and ISHR partners, provided ongoing support and advice in development of education projects with a human rights focus.  Set up and oversaw professional development and training programme for 200 interns and volunteers which included mentoring and personal coaching.  Developed and managed a continued professional development (CPD) calendar of practical training workshops for staff to upgrade skills and facilitate knowledge sharing. Co-devised strategic plan and took lead in managing monitoring and evaluation strategy including the documentation of lessons learnt and success stories. Designed and installed online E-learning training course for human rights defenders as blended learning approach to ISHR trainings.  Set up and delivered self-care and security training courses for human rights defenders at risk.

International Service for Human Rights

Training Specialist

Worked at state and country level to strengthen the capacity of Ethiopian Government to deliver high quality basic education services.  Worked with MoE counterparts, teachers and school children to improve the curriculum and textbooks for primary and secondary education in Ethiopia.  Oversaw USAID funded project, including staff, budget management and monitoring and evaluation to produce textbook for primary level education. Conducted needs assessment with over 50 teachers and students in urban and remote schools to develop future resource and capacity building proposals.  Worked with other Voluntary Services Overseas staff to develop the capacity of Ethiopian Teacher Training Institutions to provide pre-and in-service teacher training programmes. In coordination with the British Council, set up educational events and delivered teacher training programme for 60 teachers whilst representing VSO. Implemented literacy project by training Ethiopian university students to work with illiterate rural women.  Assisted with literacy and life-skills training programme for street boys in Addis Ababa to aid reintegration into their communities

Other voluntary activities included working with community groups and local NGOs on projects such as:
•	designing and delivering training on children’s rights to teachers and parents 
•	providing psychosocial support for children’s clubs including children of rape victims/destitute mothers
•	promoting the rights of women and girl children through theatre with focus on violence against women

Led and developed teachers and local staff to deliver high quality English Language Teaching products and services for children aged 7-13 years. Managed young learner programmes and projects in 4 centres in Bangkok, managed a team of 20 teachers, 5 local staff and 6 interns including organising recruitment, induction, timetabling, payroll and financial management.  Organised young learner conferences for British Council offices in south-east Asia, liaised with global network and stakeholders to develop child protection policies in education.  Set up and managed Cambridge accredited teacher training courses for teaching young learners.
