Documentary Photographer

Michael has produced a number of documentary projects in different parts of the world.Iran Under the Ayatollah 1984-1991 – Over a period of eight years he documented life in Iran. He was there after the revolution when the religious leaders were at the height of their power, and during the Iran/Iraq war.A World of Australians 1989-1992 - This project is a series of environmental portraits of migrants to Australia. He interviewed and photographed 70 people from 70 nationalities in different parts of Australia.Second Spring –The Regeneration of the Jesuits 1989-1997 This project documents the work and life of the Jesuits (The Society of Jesus) worldwide.The 2000 Sydney Olympic Games – A series of portraits of people who contribute to the running of the Olympic Games, but are seldom recognized.Tour of Duty 200-2001 - This project features the people of East Timor at the beginning of the 21st century and the beginning of their independence.Numurkah Lakes & Roses 2005-2006 - This project is a record of life in an Australian country town over a nine-month period.

Michael Coyne

Michael Coyne has lectured and guest lectured at a number of Universities. Griffith University Queensland, RMIT University, Melbourne, RMIT TAFE Melbourne, Latrobe Bendigo,  Hong Kong University, Wuyi University, China. He was also an Artist-in-Residence at Latrobe University, Bendigo campus.His topics include: Photojournalism, Documentary Photography, Ethics in Photography, Truth and Meaning.Michael is currently the Senior Fellow at PSC in Melbourne.

When he is not traveling on assignments, Michael presents to corporations on the Public Speaking circuit.In his speeches and lectures he demonstrates through words and images how you can put your creativity to work and overcome challenges. Using real life experiences, he shows that with motivation and persistence you can "Capture the Moment and Achieve your Goal".
