Parker Smathers

Parker Smathers is a talented and experienced full-stack engineer with a diverse background in web development, creative writing, and editorial work. He attended Rhodes College and the University of Iowa for his Bachelor's and Master of Fine Arts degree, respectively, but ultimately decided to pursue a career in coding. Parker honed his coding skills through Dev Bootcamp's immersive full stack web development program, which provided him with a strong foundation in essential technologies such as React, Redux, Node.js, AWS, and Git, as well as databases such as MongoDB and SQL.

Parker currently holds a position as a lead product engineer and co-founder at FundStory, an organization he helped create. His role requires him to utilize his skills in web development, REST APIs, and AWS to develop fundraising and donation software. Prior to this role, Parker worked as a frontend developer at Fluora Studio, where he provided his expertise in React and Redux to create responsive user interfaces. He has also worked in editorial positions at Wesleyan University Press and the University of Chicago Press, where he was responsible for content creation, editing, and management.
