Marc van Gerven is an accomplished leader in the renewable energy industry with over 20 years of experience. He has served in various executive roles and board positions at companies including Shell, First Solar, and Solaria Corporation. Marc is a Doctor of Philosophy from Freie Universität Berlin and holds a Master of Science in Geosciences from the University of Tübingen.

Marc has been involved with numerous organizations throughout his career, including Aes Distributed Energy, where he currently serves as a non-executive director. He was also a managing member at Issaquah Ventures and a board member at companies such as D.Light, Silicon Ranch Corporation, and Clean Energy Collective. Additionally, Marc was a former Global Vice President of Renewable Power at Shell and Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Solaria Corporation.

His expertise in the renewable energy sector is reflected in his distinguished career and his contributions to various organizations, including the Solar Energy Industries Association and Powerhive. Marc also has experience in geoscience, having worked as a Marine Geologist and Shipboard Chief Scientist for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany.
