Steven Snell is an accomplished lawyer and professor with extensive experience in international law, antitrust, maritime law, and commercial arbitration and litigation. He received his Doctor of Juridical Science degree from New York University School of Law and has worked as an attorney for firms such as Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal and Haight, Gardner, Poor & Havens.
Along with his legal experience, Snell has taught at prestigious universities such as Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, Bryn Mawr College, and American University's Washington College of Law. He has also written two books on maritime jurisdiction and is an active member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and the Selden Society.
Snell currently teaches Admiralty and Law of the Sea at American University's Washington College of Law, and has given speeches and moderated discussions at a variety of international-law conferences. He is knowledgeable in conflict-of-laws, admiralty, antitrust, constitutional law and federal jurisdiction.
