Carolina Palma is a legal advisor with over 15 years of experience in international trade law. She holds a Master's Degree in Trade Law and an LLM in International Law. Currently studying a Research Doctorate in Trade Law at the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern, Switzerland, she is a certified attorney from the Costa Rican Bar with expertise in import/export, compliance, international treaties, bilateral investment treaties, WTO regulation, WTO dispute settlement, and international arbitration. Her proficiency in Spanish, English, German, French, and Chinese has allowed her to collaborate with various organizations around the world.

Throughout her career, Palma has held multiple positions, such as Indirect Tax Director and Global Trade & Customs Leader at EY, former Professor of Trade & Customs Law at Universidad de Costa Rica, former Director of the International Trade and Customs Division at Pacheco Coto, World Trade Organization Trade Consultant, Ambassador for Costa Rica at Seedstars, and PhD Researcher at World Trade Institute. She has also worked as an advisor and researcher for Renmin University of China, International Trade Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica, and Public Notary & Lawyer at Niehaus Attorneys.

Palma's background is strongly grounded in her professional interests in trade and economic law, compliance, international treaties, arbitration, and public and private international law. As a former Negotiator at the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica and Professor for International Law and International Private Law at Universidad de Costa Rica, she has the broad experience required to provide valuable legal advice in these areas.
