Jack Roan
Jack Roan is an accomplished artist, engineer, and craftsman with a unique background in woodworking, applied mathematics, and physics. Roan's passion for working with his hands dates back to his grandfather's trade as a carpenter in San Francisco's shipyards. Roan's father, an accomplished theoretical mathematician, inspired him to delve deeper into technical fields such as electrical engineering, where Roan excelled, earning both his BSEE and MSEE degrees from the University of California San Diego.
Roan worked as a RF/Wireless IC Design Intern at Maxim Integrated Products before joining Agilent Technologies/Xpedion Design Systems as a Senior Field Applications Engineer. He continued on this trajectory, serving as a Field Applications Engineer at Ansoft Inc./ANSYS and a Product Marketing Manager at Exar Corporation. Roan's technical expertise has enabled him to invent unique circuits and devices, resulting in several patents.
However, Roan's true passion lies in creating art. Thus, he founded Noble Amplifier Company, where he is the sole employee dedicated to building amplifiers and preamps from scratch, designing circuits, selecting and soldering each component by hand, screening every tube for noise, gain, and microphonics, and building and wrapping every cabinet for a complete product. Roan's insatiable curiosity and passion for his art are evident in his commitment to quality and attention to detail.
