Suzanne Massie is an American author, historian, and advisor best known for her role as a consultant to President Ronald Reagan during the Cold War. She was born on May 28, 1931, in New York City and attended Radcliffe College where she majored in history. In the 1970s and 1980s, Massie played an instrumental role in promoting cultural understanding between the US and the Soviet Union through her work as a cultural advisor to Reagan. Her book, "Land of the Firebird: The Beauty of Old Russia," is a travel memoir that earned her critical acclaim and acclaim from readers. She has also written several other books on history and culture, including "Pavlovsk: The Life of a Russian Palace" and "Trust but Verify: Reagan, Russia and Me." Massie has received several awards for her contributions to US-Russia relations, including the Russian Order of Friendship, and has served on the boards of numerous cultural institutions. Today, she continues to advocate for international cooperation and cultural exchange.
