Managed a team of 6 mobile developers in building Slack’s platform. I worked on building vision and direction. Created a 6 month roadmap that brought about a new creative element to how Slack approaches it’s platform on Mobile. Mentored engineers in building up the core skills necessary to get promoted. Held frequent 1:1s to understand the members of the team more effectively. Created a process to help build efficiency in delivering software.

Managed a diverse team of 20 plus iOS developers distributed around the globe and onsite in various function such as building the team, performance reviews and helping team members grow and develop. Responsible for the delivery of features for the iOS application, a significant contributor to overall company revenue. Defined the architecture, distributed the work (feature break down) and allocated the resources for feature development. Outlined and drove a scalable architecture for the iOS application. Coordinated vendor’s and managed technical integration of partner solutions. Key in delivering the following features: peer to peer chat allowing customers to share product knowledge, Contextually aware notification to alert user’s of relevant information as they neared a store (Helped to drive traffic to stores), Buy On Line and Pick up in Store, and Virtual Artist an augmented reality feature that allows customers to try on products from mobile. Handled all hiring and personnel related actions associated with the team.

iOS Architect and Team Lead

Led development of a Bluetooth low energy communication framework  that was used for configuring wearable devices. Initially started with a multidisciplinary team of 5 and grew it to 10 and at times 12 members with varying expertise. Collaborated with product management to distill vision and epic level product requirements to actionable user stories. Defined and measured KPIs. Developed a roadmap and outlined work, along with the architecture for both iOS and Android. Facilitated agile development environment by writing stories, organize grooming sessions, and focused team on two week release cycle with concrete deliverables. In addition to managing scope and velocity was a major contributor to the code base on both platforms, by writing code for both iOS and Android. Organized team events to foster deep collaboration and camaraderie within the team. Prior to current project worked extensively on new features from idea to full implementation for the Basis Peak app. Along with consistent work on maintaining Basis Peak app and supporting it’s extensive and established user base.

Worked on creating a robust platform that blended tasks, calendars, and email together in one unified application.  Worked extensively on deep aspects of Calendar integration with Gmail and iOS. Helped to develop the mail sync engine that uses MailCore to sync with IMAP.
