Marcus Foon is a seasoned entrepreneur and global program lead with over 16 years of experience in engaging with startups, SMBs, corporate organizations, game developers, and community champions across the world. With a proven track record of driving economic impact for hundreds of game developers and startups, Marcus leads Google's game developer ecosystem, cultivating a business advocacy network of over 200 community managers and 200,000 network members in 27 countries.
As a multi-lingual individual, Marcus has strong cross-functional leadership, partnership, and business expertise. He uses this expertise to uplift advocacy networks through high-touch engagement, training, budget planning, and program execution. He has trained over 50,000 entrepreneurs globally in countries like Brazil, India, and Indonesia.
Marcus plays a crucial role in advancing program strategy in the cross-functional space and was instrumental in launching Google's Womenwill initiative in collaboration with GBG through a partnership with Google's Brand Safety & Reputation team. He has also built brand-agnostic case studies with Policy that influence key policymakers worldwide.
Besides his professional work, Marcus is also proficient in Mandarin, English, Bahasa, and Cantonese. He has a Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons), Digital Media from Multimedia University and is a certified trainer by PSMB (Human Resource Development Fund Malaysia). He enjoys basketball, pop and EDM, and playing RPG strategy and FPS games.
