Amanda SlavinNew York, New York, United States
I believe that everyone deserves the right to be inspired and an active participant in their own life and that starts with how I define engagement.

I am a former educator with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, the #1 best selling author of The Seventh Level and Co-founder of CatalystCreativ and Forbes 30 Under 30 for Marketing and Advertising.

I help companies define, assess and understand what engagement means so that they can connect with their customers and thrive based on meaningful metrics. I define engagement as authentic, meaningful human connection that leads to the granting of time and attention. In an overwhelming marketplace where companies are struggling to garner the attention of their employees, (internal customers) and audience, (external customers) my seventh level methodology helps companies attain engagement, as more than just vanity metrics. I have applied this specialization in engagement throughout my career (education, hospitality, events, marketing, branding) for the past 10+ years.

In 2012, I cofounded CatalystCreativ with the intention to activate passive consumers into active participants (as employees/customers and humans) using this proprietary engagement framework (

CC is an award winning community design agency that has worked with fortune 100 companies and a plethora of start-ups and nonprofits such as: Coke, NPR, Dell, The Raiders, Google, TNC, Hubspot, on brand development and design, experiential marketing and strategic consulting.

Prior to CC, I attended Neag School of Education at UConn Integrated Bachelor and Masters Program for Curriculum and Instruction and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

I wrote my thesis on using the community/nature based learning as the classroom and the impact on engagement and achievement with the intention to change the way we measure learning.

I am an active angel investor and venture partner (OzoneX), advisor (ex: Hubspot, Speakfully, SEEN, Global Citizen), speaker, (ex: TedX, INBOUND, Chicago Ideas Week, etc), and writer (ex: Forbes, Entrepreneur, Business Insider, Huffington Post).

I am very passionate about education and changing the way we learn, and I believe that brands and people of influence are the best teachers in the world, they just need the right curriculum to inspire and educate their internal and external customers, and that starts with engagement.

QUOTE FROM TONY HSIEH: AUTHOR OF #1 NY TIMES BESTSELLER“DELIVERING HAPPINESS” AND CEO OF ZAPPOS.COM“Amanda Slavin is one of those special people that you wish you could clone to make the world a better place, but at the same time, you’re a little scared to clone her because so much information comes out of her at 100 miles per hour that there’s no way you can keep up with more than one Amanda. So I was excited to hear that she was able to capture everything that was in her head and coming out of her mouth into something printed on paper. One of the philosophies I try to live by (and use for employee all hands meetings) is ICEE (an acronym I made up to help with remembering): Inspire, Connect, Educate, and Entertain.Amanda’s Seventh Level of Engagement framework resonates with the way I think about business and life, so it’s not surprising that Amanda and I get along so well since her self-described Seventh Level (which I found out about after I read this book) is about “building connections while inspiring and educating others.”I’d recommend this book for anyone looking to take change their organization for the better by connecting more meaningfully to employees, customers, or other stakeholders. And the good newsis it’s much easier to get additional copies of this book than it is to clone additional copies of Amanda.”
