Steve Willingham
FCDI Founder and CFO
Steve Willingham is a seasoned Systems Engineer with 30 years of experience working on diverse government projects in industries such as manned space flight, satellite communications, civil aviation, insurance, financial services, medical technology, and accounting.
Steve is the founder of Willingham Associates LLC and the Eureka! Factory (EurekaFactory.NET) in the Tampa Bay area, where he has actively engaged with the local community of makers and developers.
He played a crucial role in designing The Hive, a prominent 10,000 sq. ft. public community innovation center at the John F. Germany Library in downtown Tampa.
Moreover, Steve is deeply involved in the FIRST robotics community, serving as the State Judge Advisor for FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and as a mentor for FRC teams.
In 2015, Steve established the Foundation for Community Driven Innovation, Inc. (FCDI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting academic achievement, economic development, and innovation through various programs and projects.
Steve currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at FCDI and was instrumental in creating the Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics Center (AMRoC) Fab Lab and organizing the annual Roboticon event benefiting thousands of students.
His expertise spans across areas such as Business Leadership, Nonprofit Finances, Business Analysis, Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, and Knowledge Management.
Steve's educational background includes studies in Electrical Engineering at Florida International University and Computer Applications at Florida Institute of Technology.
Throughout his career, Steve has held key roles in various organizations including his work as the Chief Financial Officer and Founder at FCDI & AMRoC Fab Lab, President at Willingham Associates LLC, Enterprise Architect at PwC, Information Architect at Perot Systems (now Dell), and Lead Systems Engineer at L3Harris Technologies.
