Richard Chen, currently based in Singapore, is a Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal, where he, alongside a team of former Big 4 professionals, initiated the establishment of A&M's Transaction Advisory practice in Asia. Specializing in buy-side transactions, Richard's expertise lies in financial due diligence, evaluating financial, operational, accounting, and commercial aspects of deals. He has provided counsel on U.S. GAAP revenue recognition matters and post-acquisition accounting advice, including revenue recognition guidelines. With a strong portfolio of over 100 due diligence projects in Asia for major corporations and private equity entities, Richard has been involved in significant transactions in China like Walmart’s investment in Yihaodian, ClearVue Partners / Verlinvest's investment in 111.com, and Sanpower / Sailing Capital's acquisition of Brookstone. Richard has also guided clients in the region, including Platinum Equity in their acquisitions of SGX listed PCI LTD., Fischer Tech, and business units from Broadway Industrial Group.
