Neil Bartlett has established an impressive career spanning several decades in the fields of computer science, data analytics, and technology development. Neil's career began after completing his studies in Computer Science and Electronics at the prestigious University of St. Andrews, which provided him with a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of technology development. Early in his career, he held a position as a Software Engineer at Nortel Networks, where he honed his technical skills and gained valuable experience in software development and engineering.
As he progressed in his career, Neil took on increasingly significant roles at Algorithmics, where he served as Director of Technology, and later as SVP Applications and Emerging Technologies. His strategic vision and leadership capabilities led him to become the CTO and Head of Development within the company, where he played a crucial role in advancing risk analytics solutions that are still influential in the industry today. He was pivotal in the company’s innovation journey, leading teams that developed cutting-edge technology in risk management and analytics.
In recognition of his extraordinary expertise in analytics, Neil was appointed as an IBM Fellow, taking on roles including CTO of Business Analytics and CTO of Risk Analytics at IBM Canada. During his tenure at IBM, he contributed significantly to the organization by spearheading initiatives that combined data-driven insights with business intelligence, thus enhancing decision-making processes for numerous clients.
Continuing his career at major financial institutions, Neil took the role of Senior Vice President of Analytics at Scotiabank, where he utilized his extensive experience to drive analytics strategy, enabling the institution to make informed decisions and improve customer experiences. This was further complemented by his subsequent position at RBC, where he served as Senior Vice President of DNA, Data and Analytics, overseeing the bank's strategic use of data to meet business objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
Today, Neil is involved with Taking Time Out at Self, an organization dedicated to personal reflection and growth, allowing him to contribute to the community differently while continuing his professional endeavors.
