    Marian Dalton

Systems Librarian at Curtis Memorial Library

Marian Dalton has a diverse professional background starting in mainframe-based Information Technology with IBM and the local Utility. Despite this, Marian always had a passion for combining technical expertise with library work, with a special interest in cataloging rare books and CDs. Marian's journey included volunteering at various institutions like Bowdoin College and local public libraries, followed by contract work in cataloging. While currently managing a network of around 100 PCs at the local public library, Marian still values working directly with library items and occasionally contributes to reference services. The enthusiasm for new technologies, particularly in the context of Library 2.0, remains a focal point of Marian's interests.

With educational roots in Cornell University, Marian's professional experience includes roles such as a former Cataloger at the Maine State Library and a Systems Librarian at the Curtis Memorial Library.
