The Core Ranking team builds the ranker - the technology that finds and orders the most relevant 10 blue links- Led the effort to develop more robust relevance measurement techniques- Led a team of 20 developers and testers in two crucial query segments, popularity and freshness, improving targeted relevance metric by more than 10% year over year- Drove the team’s transition to new ranking technology developed by Microsoft Research, resulting in a 10x experimentation productivity improvement for the Ranking team- Co-invented a ranker training technique that enables low-risk high-impact targeted relevance improvements; this technique has been adopted by the ranking team for all segment experiments- Awarded a Gold Star for exceptional performance on the Core Ranking team- Awarded a Tech Transfer Award for shipping technology developed by Microsoft Research

- Collaborated with Office Labs and Microsoft Research to prototype the first Outlook feature based on Machine Learning, the prototype was voted 1st place, "Most Likely to be a Success Story", among 20 other projects at an Office Labs competition- Developed a data visualization app for the Outlook performance team that lead to the identification and correction of several performance issues in Outlook- Volunteered to develop prototypes of new Outlook features that resulted in better feature designs and fewer design changes for multiple members of the Outlook team- Led many teams to design and implement multiple features in Outlook 2010 including the Calendar Preview in meeting requests and parts of the Outlook Social Connector which are among the most used new features in Outlook 2010- Won the "Happy Numbers" Outlook programming competition with an algorithm that was over 100x faster than the second place contender- Awarded a Gold Star for exceptional performance on the Outlook team

OrgSync is a web-based member management and communication portal specialized for college organizations. I started OrgSync while at school and sold it shortly before joining Microsoft.- Designed, developed, marketed, and sold OrgSync to multiple customers; company reached profitability before taking on any officers or employees- Recruited and co-managed a team of sales and development staff to continue to sell OrgSync, eventually leading to OrgSync receiving the external funding necessary to grow even larger
