    Erik Steimle, CEP, brings over 20 years of technical and management expertise in permitting and developing renewable energy and large-scale infrastructure projects.

    He specializes in planning, permitting, design, operation, and power markets for hydroelectric, energy storage, transmission, and other renewable electricity facilities.

    In his role at Rye, Erik is involved in various project development activities such as contracting, business development, regulatory reform, and ensuring a smooth development process.

    His prior accomplishments include successfully permitting the largest portfolio of IPP FERC Licenses for new low-impact hydropower projects in the US and leading regulatory reform initiatives in challenging market conditions.

    Erik has experience in managing due diligence investigations for hydropower sales, acquisitions, and joint ventures in Canada and South America.

    He holds an ABCEP Certified Environmental Planner certification and has extensive experience in preparing NEPA documents for state and federal infrastructure projects worth over $4 billion USD.

    Erik's specialties include hydropower, energy storage, renewable energy integration, regulatory compliance (FERC, NEPA, 401, 404, wetlands), licensing, relicensing, and water resources projects.

    He pursued a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology at Southern Oregon University.

    Previously, Erik held key positions such as Chief Development Officer and Executive Vice President at Rye Development, as well as roles at ERM, Symbiotics/Riverbank Power, and Ecosystems Research Institute.
