    Dr. Andrew Young Shin is an accomplished researcher currently focused on the development of retinal prosthetic devices to restore sight as part of the Palanker group.

    His primary interests lie in nanofabrication of innovative bioelectronics for neural stimulation and recording.

    He completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University, where he also pursued his BS in Nano Engineering, achieving a remarkable GPA of 3.88.

    Prior to his academic pursuits, Dr. Shin attended Hansung Science High School to build a strong foundation for his future studies.

    Throughout his academic journey, he has been associated with prestigious organizations such as Stanford University, where he is currently a PhD student, UC San Diego, where he served as an Undergraduate Researcher, and the Republic of Korea Army, where he held the rank of Sergeant.
