ITS Project Manager

Responsible for the systems design and integration at Doha New Port Project (NPP) which is located about 50Km west of Doha and handles containers, general cargo, bulk foodstuffs, livestock and offshore supply. The port operation systems consist of 26 packages (systems) and are connected to a main and recovery data centre. Responsibilities include management of the design teams, liaison with Stakeholders & PMC, coordination of design teams for integration, monitoring design submittals for completeness and quality. Also responsible for introducing new processes for monitoring progress, quality of designs and instigating workshops with the Independent Engineering Consultant, Master Systems Integrator Consultant and PMC. Lusail City ITS DesignThe role has included, development of an ITS scope of services, development of tender documents and technical evaluation of the tender responses. On award of the contract ensured that the Consultant followed the design process, gathering user requirements, validation, developing concept of operations, specifications and detailed design. Liasing with PWA (Ashghal) to gain approval of ITS designs. Lusail City Wide Security DesignDeveloping the scope of services, technical evaluation of tender responses, working closely with the Ministry of Interior Security Systems Department and the Consultant to develop new standards for infrastructure and defining and developing security design, verification of design with other utilities and clash analysis. Lusail Light Rail Transit (LRT)Working with Qatar Rail and traffic signal suppliers for the development of an interface between the train control system and the traffic signal controller for LRT traffic signal pre-emption.Lusail Road TunnelsReviewing fire and life safty systems in accordance with NFPA 502, liaison with PWA and Civil Defence.  Legtaifiya Lagoon Security SystemLegtaifiya Lagoon  is a compound of exclusive villas housing VVIP’s and VIP’s as well as home to several embassies and is set within a 3.3Km2 real estate on the West Bay lagoon.  Defining user requirements, developing scope of services and working with the Consultant to ensure design meets the requirements as well as balanced with the privacy of the residents.  All of the above involved working with the infrastructure design Consultants, Authorities, gaining Authority approvals with PWA (Ashghal) and MOI SSD, all three projects are in the process of entering the implementation phase.

On secondment to PWA (Ashghal) involved developing tender documents in coordination with PWA Departments for the procurement of an ITS Consultant for ITS Consultancy Services (Contract 5). Responding to tender clarifications, tender evaluation and providing recommendations.Masdar Institute of Science and Technology Abu Dhabi – (UAE)•	Providing consultancy services and project management for the installation of GSM, IPTV, VoIP phones and the wind tower. The wind tower is a major feature and focal point of the university which provides a visual indication of efficiency of power and water usage•	The tower provides cooling to the podium area and I was responsible for the project management and site supervision of the power installation, weather station, LED lighting, misting, louver control and an information pylon•	The project was delivered on time for the grand opening by the Crown Prince and other dignitaries	Highways Agency and Surrey County Council Integrated Demand Management (IDM) •	Provided technical expertise for network monitoring and Travel Information Provision, which included CCTV, ANPR, traffic counting and variable message signs (VMS)
