Michael Pastreich is an accomplished executive with years of leadership experience in the arts industry. Most recently serving as President and CEO of The Florida Orchestra, he oversaw record growth in subscription numbers and concert attendance. Prior to that, he was CEO of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, where he led the organization to become the second-largest orchestra in Illinois.
Pastreich's education is just as impressive as his professional background. He studied silversmithing at Washington University in St. Louis and received a Fulbright Scholarship for graduate studies in Finland. He also studied Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management at Harvard Business School.
Currently, he serves as Executive Director at The Washington Ballet, continuing his passion for the arts and leadership. He has received numerous accolades for his work, including being named a Chicagoan of the Year by the Chicago Tribune and Manager of the Year by the Illinois Council of Orchestras.
