Stephen Lawler is a seasoned software engineering and technical leader with 20+ years of experience in the areas of mobile, mapping, geospatial, 3D, mixed reality, artificial intelligence, and semantic search. He is also an inventor/co-inventor of 49 patents granted or pending, involved with many tech acquisitions/integrations, strategic partnerships, and global development teams.

Lawler's impressive career includes 15 years at Microsoft in various roles, including CTO Bing Maps, General Manager of Software Development for Bing Maps, Bing Mobile, Local Search, MSN, Virtual Earth, and General Manager and Product Unit Manager of MapPoint/Mobile Division. He was also a Vice President at Amazon and a Senior Vice President at Cyanogen.

Currently, Lawler serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Vexcel Group, a leading worldwide imagery and 3D data service provider. He co-owns the company, which was acquired from Microsoft in 2016. Lawler studied Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of New Hampshire -- Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics.
