Auren Hoffman is a well-known entrepreneur, investor, and tech leader. He is the CEO of SafeGraph, a leading platform that provides data about physical places. Prior to this, he founded LiveRamp, the largest middleware firm that connects marketing applications, which was acquired by Acxiom in 2014. Auren is also a well-known angel investor, having invested in over 120 technology companies throughout his career. He is the Chairman and co-founder of the Dialog Retreat, a Board Member of Datavant, and a General Partner at Flex Capital. Additionally, Auren is a non-employee co-founder of multiple startups, including Windfall Data, CredPR, Intentomatic, Agenteur, and TitleDock.
Auren has a B.S.E. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley. He served as Chairman of Stonebrick Group and CEO of BridgePath, which he sold in 2002. He was also CTO of Kyber Systems, which he sold in 1997. Moreover, Auren was the first investor in BrightRoll, and he served on its board until it was acquired by Yahoo for $640 million.
Some of the companies Auren has invested in include Airbyte, Carta, Chameleon, Crunchbase, Emailage, Engagio, Factual, Figure Eight, Gorgias, mParticle, Neutronian, Plato, RainforestQA, SambaTV, Superhuman, TrueWork, Turing, and Windfall Data. He is also an angel investor in Kaggle, which was acquired by Google, and Aardvark, which was also acquired by Google.
