Project Manager with over 8 years experience in statutory and strategic planning

During my role as Project Manager at Elton Consulting I have been involved in managing the preparation of Structure Plan and subdivision DAs for the award-winning master planned estate Googong in Queanbeyan NSW and Planning Proposals for both greenfield release areas and urban renewal precincts in Penrith and Wollongong.  I have also coordinated and developed various Strategies for Local Government, including the Dubbo Local Strategic Planning Strategy and written controls for site specific Development Control Plans. Whilst project managing the above projects, and others, I have also acted as the town planner, providing statutory and strategic planning advice in regards to different planning issues experienced within a wide range of Local Government Areas across Metropolitan Sydney as well as regional areas.

My role with APP involved the preparation of statutory planning reports such as Environmental Impact Statements, Statements of Environmental Effects, Review of Environmental Factors (REF), DA assessments, due diligence reports and strategic planning reports, including Planning Proposals.  My role also involved project coordination and liaison with a broad range of stakeholders including clients, architects, Council and government organisations.  During my time with APP I also undertook a four month secondment to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment working within the Urban Renewal team on the development of Planned Precincts.

My role with City Plan enabled to me to develop my skill base in both statutory and strategic planning in NSW, expanding my knowledge and understanding of local government legislation as well as State legislation.  The scope of my responsibilities ranged from the preparation of numerous planning reports of varying size and complexity, to the coordination and management of various external consultants, as well as communicating with a range of stakeholders including State and local government, developers, architects and project managers as well as the local community.

Urban Planner

During my time with the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, the focus of my work was concentrated within the area of Development Assessment of State Significant Development projects. My main role involved the review and evaluation of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs) in order to assess the potential environmental impact of the proposed development, consequently recommending approval or refusal.  This role enabled me to develop a sound knowledge of NSW state legislation, in particular the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and relevant State Environmental Planning Polices.
