Accelerating Clay’s mission with Automattic
We’re beyond excited to announce Clay has been acquired by Automattic. Five years ago, we set out on a mission to increase human conscientiousness by crafting beautiful tools for people to be more thoughtful with one another. We’ve made significant progress since then and are proud to be the best tool in the world for nurturing relationships—now trusted with nearly 150 million of them.
Looking to the future, we have a wonderful opportunity to reshape and rethink how we care for our relationships. We believe we can accelerate our mission by joining forces with Automattic—leveraging decades of collective experience as a leader and visionary in supporting the infrastructure of the web.
As we’ve gotten to know Matt, the Founder and CEO of Automattic, it is clear that he is committed and energized to this shared future we’re building together. We can’t think of anyone more perfect to partner with—almost everyone on the internet today currently benefits from the products Automattic creates. You may already know them as the parent company of WordPress.com and other fantastic products like Beeper, Tumblr, Day One, and more.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who helped us reach this milestone. A large part of our success can be traced back to the heart, craft, and hard work that so many people have poured into Clay over the years.
It’s an honor for us to continue to serve this mission, and we’re thrilled to get back to work.
